Draft v0.3, 11 October 2026.
The app, and everything you sign in to, carries no advertising and no tracking of any kind. The Whole Team app and the portal use only the cookies and local storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember choices you make on the device (which child is selected, your digest time). These are strictly necessary and need no consent under PECR.
Our website has one Google advertising tag, and only if you say yes. On www.wholeteam.co.uk we ask, before anything loads, whether you accept a Google advertising tag. It is there for one reason: to tell us which of our adverts led to a club being set up. If you accept, Google sets its own cookies on www.wholeteam.co.uk; if you reject, or close the card without choosing, no script and no request of any kind goes to Google.
| What it is | Google Ads tag `AW-18504954308`, loaded only after you accept |
|---|---|
| What it does | Counts one thing: a club was set up after an advert was clicked |
| What it is not | No Google Analytics, no remarketing lists, no personalised advertising, no email or phone number sent to Google, no other vendor |
| Where | www.wholeteam.co.uk only. Never in the app, never in the portal at app.wholeteam.co.uk, never on a club's own website, never on an unsubscribe page, never in an email |
| Your choice | Kept in our own cookie `wt_consent` for six months. "Cookie settings" in the footer changes it at any time |
The cookies, by name
Measured, not copied from a blog. `scripts/shoot-cookie-banner.mjs` loads the built site as www.wholeteam.co.uk, accepts the card, and records every cookie the browser then holds, with its lifetime. It runs twice: an ordinary visit, and the way an ad click arrives, with a `gclid` in the address. Last measured 11 October 2026.
| Cookie | Set by | Lifetime | What it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| `wt_consent` | Us | Six months (measured: 180 days) | Remembers whether you said yes or no, so we do not ask again |
| — | — | In this measurement the tag set no cookies of its own. The tag loads and starts, but no conversion has been created for it in Google Ads yet, so it has nothing to attribute and writes nothing. The same was true with and without a `gclid`, and in a secure context |
This table is re-measured when the conversion is created. Once there is a conversion action to count, the tag is expected to set its own cookies on www.wholeteam.co.uk — Google's conversion linker normally writes `_gcl_au`, and `_gcl_aw` after an ad click. We will not name a cookie here until our own measurement shows it, which is why the row above says what it says rather than listing what we expect.
Google may also use cookies on its own sites when the tag runs.
We do not use analytics cookies, social media pixels or tracking pixels in emails. We do not use third-party analytics services. The product measurements we keep (for example whether the digest was opened) are recorded in our own database against an adult account, never shared, and listed in the privacy notice.
Rejecting changes nothing about the site. Every page works the same either way, and we do not ask again for six months.
