Leagues and the weekend board, for a league body

An association is a district, county or league body whose members are clubs rather than people. As well as running tournaments, it can run a league between its member clubs and publish one board of the weekend's fixtures.

A league between member clubs

  1. From the association, Run a tournament, and choose League.
  2. Back on the association's page, under League fixtures, choose the league, the kick-off, the home team, the away team and where it is.

Both teams have to belong to clubs that are members. The fixture lands in both clubs' calendars at once, so both sets of families see it beside their training, and either club's coaches can enter the result.

The weekend board

Under The weekend board, give it a short address and it gets a public page: app.wholeteam.co.uk/a/your-name.

It shows every member club's fixtures from Friday to Sunday: the time, where, the two clubs and their teams, and the score once a club has entered it.

No player's name ever appears on it. A fixture carries teams, not people, and the page never reads a person's record. There is no login, no cookie and no tracking on it, so it can be pinned in a clubhouse or sent round a WhatsApp group without anyone worrying.

What the association cannot do

  • It cannot see a club's players, contacts, medical notes or photos. Membership of an association gives it fixtures, not families.
  • It cannot put a club that is not a member on a fixture, and the database refuses it even if someone tries.
  • It cannot enter a result for a club unless the club nominates it, exactly as with a tournament.
