Inviting a parent

Invite a parent

  1. On the team, tap Invite a parent
  2. Their email address
  3. Tap Make the invite
  4. It's on its way to them

A club is the families in it, and this is how they get in. One invitation, to one family, sent by email.

Sending it

From the team, choose Invite, type the parent's email address and send. They get an email with a link and a six-digit code. Opening the link signs them in; there is no password to choose and nothing to install first, because Whole Team works in a browser as well as in the app.

An invitation is for one family and can be used once. It is not a code to put in a group chat - if you want something to share with everybody at once, use the team's ask-to-join link instead, which is on the club's Teams page. That one is made for sharing: families ask, and you let them in.

What the parent does

They add their child - a first name, an initial and the birth month - and that is enough to be on the team. They are asked once whether their child may appear in photos, and the answer is no until they say otherwise.

If it does not arrive

Ask them to look in their junk folder first; one email from an address a person has never seen before often lands there. If it is genuinely missing, send it again from the same place. An invitation that has already been used cannot be used a second time, and the person will be told that rather than left guessing.

You can see which invitations are outstanding on the club's People page, and cancel one that went to the wrong address.
