Making a drill card

Club admins make drill cards for the club's playbook. A card must have a one-breath line of 30 words or fewer: the line a coach says to 9-year-olds before they run. A card with a longer line can't be saved.

Making a card

  1. Open Playbook and choose New drill.
  2. Fill in:
    • Title, for example "Three-touch keep-ball".
    • One-breath line. The count underneath shows how many words you've used out of 30.
    • Skill area and Sport.
    • Age bands the drill suits.
    • Fewest players and Most players.
    • Area width and Area depth in metres.
    • Minutes.
    • Equipment, separated by commas.
    • Setup.
    • Coaching points, one per line, up to 8.
    • Make it harder.
    • Optionally, a Video link (YouTube only) and a Video credit saying whose video it is.
  3. Choose who can see it: The club's coaches and members, or Keep as a draft.
  4. Choose Save drill. The card opens; choose Draw the diagram next. See The diagram editor.

If the one-breath line is too long

The count turns into a warning as soon as the line goes over 30 words. If you save anyway, the card isn't saved, and the page says how many words the line has and asks you to cut it. What you typed stays in the form.

Editing a card

Open the card and choose Edit card. The same rules apply.
