Setting up what Who was there asks for

The coach register records the qualifications a club asks its coaches to hold. Whole Team has a starter list for each governing body: the safeguarding course, first aid and coaching awards it expects, with how often each is renewed. A club can use it, add its own, or both. Nothing is imposed. Where our research hasn't confirmed a detail against the body's own page, the requirement arrives as not checked with a VERIFY note, and the digest won't chase an expiry on it until the club marks it checked.

Use the starter list

  1. Set the club's governing body in Club settings (see Rules and Play safe).
  2. Choose Coach in the rail on the left, then Coach register.
  3. Under Qualifications the club asks for, the body's starter list is offered with each requirement's name.
  4. Read it against your governing body's own list, then choose Use these.

Check each requirement

Each requirement shows its body, how often it's renewed and who it's for. One still marked VERIFY says Not checked yet, with the note from our research.

  1. Check the requirement against your governing body's own page.
  2. Choose Mark as checked. From then on the digest reminds the safeguarding officer at 60 and 30 days before a coach's qualification expires.

Add your own

Under the list, enter a Name, the Governing body and Renew every (months), then choose Add requirement.

Good to know

  • Using the list twice adds nothing: a requirement already there is skipped.
  • A coach's qualification can be recorded against a requirement that isn't checked yet. It shows on the register, but the digest won't chase it.
  • The starter lists cover The FA, the Scottish FA, Scottish Rugby, the RFU, the ECB, England Hockey, England Netball and the LTA (tennis and padel). Every England Hockey, England Netball and LTA requirement is marked VERIFY.
