Fundraising campaigns
A campaign gathers the money for one thing the club is raising for, such as a tour, a new scrum machine or a race night. Every payment for its events carries the campaign's tag, so the club can see what it has raised without sorting payments by hand. The club's treasurer and admins run campaigns: choose Money, then Fundraising.
Start a campaign
- Enter a Name, for example "Summer tour 2027".
- Enter a Tag: 2 to 10 letters or digits, for example TOUR27. Left empty, it is made from the name.
- Enter a Target if there is one.
- Add Starts and Ends dates if you want. Leave them empty for a campaign that runs until you close it, like a tour fund.
- Leave Show it on the club's website ticked to show its bar on the club's website, or untick it.
- Choose Start the campaign.
The money goes to the club's own account, as every payment does.
Put events in it
Open the campaign, then under Add an event choose one of the club's events and Put it in. A campaign can hold any number of events: a quiz night with a price, a home match day's tea hut, or a tour's days. Take out removes one. Payments an event has already taken count towards the campaign once it is in, as do the ones to come.
The tag, on every payment
Every payment for a campaign's events carries its tag: the till's sales on that day, the event's price, and a tour's instalments. Refunds carry it too.
- In the club's books: the campaign column of the export (see the treasurer's page).
- In Stripe: filter the club's payments by the metadata
campaign_tag. - On the payer's card statement: the tag is shown there as well.
Raised so far
The list of campaigns shows what each has raised and from how many payments, across all its events. A campaign that is open and shown on the website has its bar on the club's website, with what it has raised against its target.
Its own export
Each campaign has Export ›: the same CSV as the club's export, with only that campaign's payments in it. Hand it to whoever is counting the money for the tour or the appeal.
Close a campaign
Open the campaign and choose Close the campaign. A closed campaign keeps its payments and its export; it comes off the club's website. Open it again reopens it.
Good to know
- A tour starts its own campaign. See tours.
- Taking card payments needs the club's Stripe account to be set up. See taking money.
